Out in the Bush

A companion piece to Low Hanging Branches, painted from the same afternoon light but a different angle into the canopy — here the trunk forks into pale grey-white, with a run of blue washing straight down the bark like water finding a crack, and warm orange-brown streaking up alongside it. The canopy sits looser again, dabs of blue and green suggesting leaf and shadow rather than describing them. Same loose, abstract hand as its companion, but the branches sit differently and the palette leans a touch cooler through the trunk.
