Tawny Frogmouth
With their nocturnal habit and owl-like appearance, the Tawny Frogmouth is not an owl. It is more closely related to a Kookaburra. The stippled feathers of the Tawny Frogmouth allow it to blend in with the trunk of trees and dappled light which allows them to blend into the trees and shrubbery.
Tawny Frogmouth's mate for life, with the male and female sharing the care of their chicks.
