About Ann

Old Man Emu

Ann Owen is an Award-winning watercolourist enjoying a roving life sharing her time between the Sunshine Coast and Darwin, in sunny Australia.

Ann’s love of colour began with her childhood experiences growing up in Papua New Guinea, so it’s no surprise that vibrant colours feature in so many of her artworks.

Colour Me Happy is the passion which inspires Ann's creative energy

Largely self-taught, Ann's talents have been enhanced by her travels and her sense of adventure.  She has been inspired by other artists to develop her unique style and technique.

Drawn to the vivid colours of the Australian landscape, many of her works reflect the rich colours of the Outback, native birds, gnarly old gum trees, wildflowers, billabongs and unusual animals … albeit some with a little attitude.

Fascinated by the luminosity of watercolours, Ann often incorporates ink, crayons and other media into her paintings to add contrast and texture.   She paints nature as she sees it and often adds a dash of her quirky sense of humour.  In reflection, these works remain some of her most sought-after pieces.

Ann’s artworks are perfect for personal or interior design projects with select art pieces held in private collections throughout Australia, New Zealand and Internationally.

Whether you are a seasoned art collector or simply appreciate the beauty of nature, you are sure to find something to admire in Ann’s collection.
